Why does the website fail to support multiple buyer roles?
Websites fail multiple buyer roles when content is built for a single decision-maker rather than the full buying committee. Multiple personas have different needs, concerns, goals, and questions across the buyer's journey, and each persona likely has a different path through that journey.
In a typical B2B technology purchase, the buying committee includes marketing, data security, technical architecture, development, and analytics stakeholders, each evaluating the solution against different criteria. Not all committee members progress at the same rate; one person may be in the consideration stage while others are still in awareness. The primary buyer needs input from several personas before deciding, and those influencers may never fill out a form or identify themselves. Effective multi-role support requires role-based content paths (CFOs see cost savings content, IT leaders see integration and security content, department heads see workflow content) and recognition that the buying group is collaborative, not individual.
