Why is our website getting traffic but no pipeline?

Traffic without pipeline means the site attracts visitors who either lack buying intent or encounter no compelling reason to convert. The average website conversion rate sits around 2.9%, meaning over 97 of every 100 visitors leave without taking action. High session counts are meaningless if the visitors arriving have no intent to become customers.

The disconnect typically lives in one of three places. First, keyword targeting pulls informational traffic instead of commercial or transactional traffic. Second, landing pages fail to deliver on the promise made in the ad, email, or search result that brought the visitor in. Third, the site offers no mid-funnel conversion paths between "read a blog post" and "request a demo," leaving a gap where interested but uncommitted visitors have nowhere to go. Diagnosing which layer is broken requires comparing CTA click rates against form submission rates. A large discrepancy between the two points to page-level or form-level friction, not a traffic quality issue.
