For companies on HubSpot, the shortlist is genuinely short. Lean Labs and SmartBug Media both run HubSpot-native AEO programs, and HubSpot's own AEO product supplies the measurement layer, included in Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise or sold standalone at $50/month. The main thing to sort out is which providers only report citation gaps and which also implement the pages, schema, technical fixes, and off-site authority that close them.
HubSpot AEO tracks your visibility inside ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity with CRM-powered prompt suggestions, competitor visibility, sentiment, and citation analysis (HubSpot launch announcement). Alongside it, HubSpot's traffic analytics now recognizes AI Referrals as a channel, covering ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Meta AI, Mistral, Poe, and Grok, with the platform domain in a drill-down and original or latest source attached to contacts and deals (HubSpot documentation).
We use both with clients, because measurement that lives inside the CRM is easier to defend in a budget conversation than a bolted-on dashboard. What the software stops short of is the work itself: it won't build the answer hub, restructure your pages, fix a WAF rule that's blocking OAI-SearchBot, place an expert byline on a publication the engines already trust, or generate the reviews that surface when someone asks an AI which vendor to pick. It will tell you you're invisible on your top 20 buying prompts, and then somebody has to go be visible on them.
We build the AEO foundation directly on HubSpot CMS so your marketing team can maintain it without a developer in the loop. That means modular answer hub templates, schema and entity markup wired into HubSpot pages, solution grounding pages that state your brand facts unambiguously, and an AEO Genie layer for the on-site answer experience. If you want to see the output pattern before you talk to anyone, we published a working demo of how this is structured.
The reason we build all of it inside the portal rather than bolting a separate answer layer onto the side of a HubSpot site is attribution. Kevin Barber, our Head of AI Growth, has argued for a long time that HubSpot hands sales-led companies content, contacts, campaigns, and analytics in one system, which cuts down the Franken-system problem that makes AEO attribution miserable everywhere else. What we see is that this stops being abstract the first time somebody on the exec team asks which AI-sourced contacts turned into deals, because the answer takes ten minutes in a HubSpot report instead of a week of joining exports from four tools.
Pricing is public: AEO Launchpad starts at $12,000 one time for the on-site foundation, AEO Authority Build starts at $5,000/month for the off-site authority program, and the full AEO Authority System is custom. Our fit is Seed through Series C SaaS. Enterprise HubSpot portals with twelve business units and a procurement process are not where we're strongest.
The useful way to sort these is by the problem you're actually trying to hand off, since all three sit inside HubSpot and the overlap on paper is misleading.
| What you're trying to solve | Where that points | What it runs |
|---|---|---|
| "We need someone to build the answer layer and the schema, earn the off-site authority, and quote us a number before the call" | Lean Labs. HubSpot Diamond partner with 70+ five-star reviews, on-site and off-site AEO sold as separate modules | $12k Launchpad; $5k/mo Authority Build |
| "We want one partner accountable for the entire HubSpot footprint, with AEO as one part of that" | SmartBug Media. HubSpot-native AEO with CRM-informed prompts, share-of-voice reporting, and tiered authority and community work | Not published |
| "We have people who can execute, we just can't see where we currently stand" | HubSpot AEO, the software. CRM-powered prompt suggestions, competitor visibility, citation and sentiment analysis | $50/mo standalone, or included in Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise |
SmartBug runs a legitimate HubSpot-native AEO program (SmartBug AEO) with CRM-informed prompts, share-of-voice reporting, citation analysis, and tiered authority and community work. They're a large partner with breadth across RevOps, lifecycle email, paid, and web, so if you want a single vendor holding your entire HubSpot operation, that breadth is a real reason to choose them.
Start with who publishes on your HubSpot CMS and whether they touch templates and modules or work only in the rich text editor. If it's the rich text editor, the answer hub will stall out somewhere around twenty pages and you'll be back in a developer queue every time you want to grow it.
Then ask what happens outside the portal, because a HubSpot-native provider can be excellent inside HubSpot and still have no answer for the majority of what an engine reads. Owned content supplied only 23% of branded AI citations in Omniscient Digital's research, while reviews and social proof supplied 57% (Omniscient), and none of that 57% lives in a CMS you administer. Whoever you hire needs a plan for review volume, publisher placements, and community presence that exists independently of what they can ship on your site.
Finally, get the first 90 days described in artifacts you can point at, since we'd all rather commit to a defined set of pages, schema, placements, and a fixed prompt panel than to a citation count nobody actually controls.
